Data valuation
We price your records against published deals and show what each part is worth. The free company data value calculator lays out every step of its sum.
Rights check
We check the company owns the records and that its contracts and the privacy notices in force at collection allow licensing. Records that fail stay out of the offer.
De-identification
Names, emails, phone numbers and other identifiers are removed or consistently replaced before any buyer sees the data; chat and email are checked for context clues too.
Buyer process and licensing
We take the prepared dataset to the buyers paying most for its type, negotiate license terms with you, and stay involved until payment.
What makes Ashgrove Data different?
- Prepare once, reach several buyers. We prepare one dataset and take it to AI labs, AI data companies and marketplaces. Programs owned by a single buyer, such as micro1’s, purchase only for that buyer [1].
- Closing or still operating. For companies that are closing, wind-down firms such as SimpleClosure and Sunset buy their archives [2]. We also work with businesses that keep operating; they can license again as new records accrue.
- A valuation method in the open. You can inspect the calculator, its factors and its check against four public deals on the calculator page.
- License first. By default we use non-exclusive licenses: you keep ownership and can license the same records again. Selling outright is your choice, priced separately.
- Your approval gates everything. Buyers get an inventory and de-identified samples; full data moves only after you approve a signed license in writing.
Who works with Ashgrove Data?
- Still-operating companies with 30 or more employees and years of Slack, email, ticket, CRM or documentation history.
- Startups winding down that want the archive to pay something before their systems are cancelled.
- Companies in specialist areas like finance, healthcare, legal, insurance, engineering and logistics, whose records rarely appear in public data.
- Larger enterprises and estates carrying long histories; Google agreed to pay Spirit Airlines $10 million for its records [3].

Frequently asked questions
What does Ashgrove Data do?
Ashgrove Data values, rights-checks, de-identifies and licenses company records such as Slack, email, tickets, documentation, CRM and code to AI labs and data buyers, and manages the buyer process for the company.
Is Ashgrove Data a consumer data broker?
No. Our work involves companies’ own operational records, and personal information is stripped out before a buyer ever sees the data. We neither build nor sell consumer profiles.
Do companies keep ownership of their data?
Yes, through a license, which is how we work by default. An outright sale hands ownership to the buyer, and we only structure a deal that way when the company asks for it.
How does Ashgrove Data get paid?
Our fee model is being finalised.
Who buys the data?
Buyers include AI labs, AI data companies building training environments for AI agents, and data marketplaces. One example: micro1 has committed $1 billion over 12 months to licensing company operational data [1].
